Data Sources & Methodology
Every result on GPS Pins comes from named, verifiable sources: geocoding and maps use OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) and Kakao Maps; IP geolocation uses public regional internet registry data via established lookup providers; all coordinates are computed against the WGS84 datum used by GPS itself.
Calculations are transparent: distances use the haversine great-circle formula (accurate to ~0.5%), UTM conversions use the proj4 projection library with automatic zone exceptions, and coordinate format conversions are exact arithmetic. Where a method has limits — like city-level IP accuracy or GPS altitude — we say so on the page instead of implying false precision.
GPS Pins is free to use, requires no account, and is supported by advertising. Tools run in your browser where possible, and we do not sell or share the locations you look up.
